Terms, privacy and refunds

Who runs this
Meridian Puzzles (https://meridianpuzzles.com) publishes a free daily logic board called Departures and paid mystery case files. In these terms, “we” means the person or business behind Meridian Puzzles, and “you” means anyone playing.
Buying a case file
Chapter I of every case file is free. Unlocking the rest is a one-time purchase. Payments are handled by Polar Software, Inc. (polar.sh), which acts as the merchant of record: Polar takes the payment, charges any sales tax or VAT, and sends your receipt and license key.
Your license key unlocks the case file on your own devices for you and the people you play with. Please don’t publish or resell your key. Keys that are shared publicly may be switched off.
Refunds
If a case file doesn’t work for you, email us within 14 days of buying it and we’ll refund you in full. Refunds go back to the original payment method through Polar. A refunded key stops working.
Privacy
There are no accounts. Your progress, streaks and settings are saved in your own browser on your device. Clearing your browser data removes them.
When you unlock a case file, your license key or code is sent to our server and checked with Polar, then stored in your browser so you don’t have to enter it again. When you buy, Polar receives your email address and payment details under its own privacy policy. We see your email address and order so we can help with refunds and support.
If we use analytics, it is a cookie-free service that counts visits and game events (such as “board solved”) without identifying you. If you sign up for email, your address is held by our email provider and used only to tell you about new case files; every email has an unsubscribe link.
Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs. To ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, email us.
The small print
The puzzles and stories are fiction. Any resemblance to real people, stations or trains is coincidental. Everything on this site is © 2026 Meridian Puzzles; please don’t copy the case files.
We work hard to keep the site running and the puzzles fair, but it is provided as is. We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version.
